Education Background
I graduated from Eastern Mennonite University (EMU) in April 2015. My degrees were in Spanish Education (PreK-12) and ESL Education (PreK-12). During college I spent five months studying at La Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Quito, Ecuador. I had seven practicum experiences in elementary, middle, and high school. I also volunteered with NewBridges Immigrant Resource Center and Skyline Literacy. During my senior year I founded the EMU Coalition on Sexual Violence Prevention.
This is my second year teaching at Spotswood.

Fun stuff
- I'm from Iowa City, Iowa. I make the 15-hour car trip home to spend time with my family as often as I can.
- My favorite food is oatmeal. I also love fried plantains and just about any kind of fruit.
- I enjoy hiking on local trails, playing soccer, biking and anything active or outdoors.
- I LOVE learning, regardless of the subject: speaking Pennsylvania Dutch or tying knots, growing vegetables or studying the history of hip-hop, relaxation techniques, and more.
- Outside of school I'm involved in social and political activism to advocate for better immigration policies.
